This was an exciting project for Star Floors as we were able to use our new Draygon RGS-50 ride on polishing equipment. Teamed up with Graham Construction Vancouver on this, our 5th project for Home Depot Canada, our scope of work included filling of sawcut joints, doing slab repairs and polishing the 80,000 square feet of new concrete using the RetroPlate Concrete Polishing System.

Draygon RGS-50 - Ride-On Grinder/Polisher

We're happy to announce a wonderful addition to Star's equipment inventory. This innovative piece of equipment looks a lot like a Zamboni ice cleaner you'd see at a hockey game but don't let looks fool you, this ride-on machine has been specifically engineered for concrete polishing. The 50" wide heads increase productivity by allowing for more concrete to be polished in one pass and the variable speed and down pressure allow us to appropriately adapt our procedure on the fly as we face ever changing concrete conditions. This means less time on the project for us and more money in the pockets of our clients.

Save time and money in tilt up

Placing a foam backer rod in sawcut joints prior to placement of tilt up panels can save both time and money by eliminating the need to:

1. Mechanically remove concrete from the sawcuts joints in the slab
2. Grind off the checker pattern often left on the inside wall of a tilt up panel when the concrete seeps into the sawcut joint after it is poured.
