This is our largest project for Ventana Construction Corporation to date. Star Floors installed the RetroPlate system over 19,000+ square feet of cementitious overlayment. Before and after the application the floor was protected with sheeting and plywood to minimize the risk of potential damage from other subtrades. A quick clean up prior to client possession really made the floor "pop".

It is very important to take into account the moisture that will continue to hydrate from a concrete slab. Using a non-breathable material to protect your newly poured slab may cause whiting. Whiting can potentially stain your floor. Star Floors recommends using breathable materials, such as craft paper or burlap. RetroPlate System

What It Does: The Retroplate System is the premier concrete polishing system. It offers significant gains in abrasion and impact resistance. The RetroPlate System can provide increased light reflectivity that is easy to maintain. This Green system can help cut your bottom line.

How it Works: A common misconception associated with the high sheen of the RetroPlate System is that it is a surface coating. The RetroPlate system is a non topical polished concrete system. It is a careful and labour intensive process of diamond grinding and polishing. A penetrating liquid densifier works with the concrete to produce a long lasting exposed concrete floor finish.

Recently our Operations Manager Barry Breeze and his crew attended HTC University in Knoxville, TN. There they received first hand training and tips on surface preparation, coatings removal and concrete polishing.
